The Daily Wire Implosion
How Bad Will it Get?
by Joe DiPietro, Publisher & CEO | Conservative Commerce
Despite the “nothing-to-see-here” window dressing from its PR people, the Daily Wire seems to be imploding.
Why it Matters: The Daily Wire was one of the first massive successes in the Parallel Economy. And, despite the recent and serious setbacks, it still garners one of the top audiences in the entire conservative ecosystem.
What Happened: Within a short period of time, two of its mega-stars Candace Owens and Brett Cooper, departed, its Co-founder/CEO Jeremy Boreing has also just left the company under a corporate-speak cloud, and its other star and co-founder Ben Shapiro faces ongoing criticism for his supposed endless shilling for the Mossad and Israel: “Who cares who killed John F. Kennedy?!,” “AIPAC isn’t the Israel lobby!,” and numerous other bizarre statements not at all popular with deep red conservatives.
Actionable Takeaway: The current implosion at the the Daily Wire is a serious warning we all need to absorb: In our tribe, people are the brand.
Conversely, woke businesses are branded almost exclusively on ideology, and generally survive the comings and goings of its main face-forward staff and media personalities. No one on the Left cares who runs or speaks for Disney, or Starbucks, or Target. As long as they produce DEI woke movies, or staff the counter with deviants and never shut up about it, or load the children’s aisles with pedo-Pride apparel and toys, their Left-loving customers neither know nor care who owns, manages, or speaks for the business.
Our tribe cares. Our loyalty is with people. And that loyalty is built on trust and credibility, and when that trust fails, your customer base withers and leaves.
And therein lies an important reality in the Parallel Economy, and a substantial lesson for all of us.
And, as the Daily Wire is proving out in real time, it doesn’t matter if your company is 10 years old, has over 100 employees, generates nearly $200 million in revenue, or has a supposed valuation of $1 billion (which we believe is grossly exaggerated), and has multiple and profitable revenue streams – it’s still about the people. It’s always about the people. And people that you trust.
How others are analyzing this situation: As you build your business, and fine tune your brand strategy, here are some important voices speaking out about the situation at The Daily Wire:
Patrick Bet-David and his team on why The Daily Wire has no leverage.
Candace Owens on the departure of Jeremy Boreing.
Allie Beth Stuckey’s take on the Daily Wire departures.

Not at all David. We have much respect for what they've accomplished. Only a handful of alt-media companies have done so. And as the article stated right up front, we are very much hoping they can right the ship. Our commentary was in-line with what other significant media analysts and commentators are saying. Losing Candace and Brett was a devastating hit to business. And, disappointingly, Jordan Peterson has very much diminished once he came on board at the Daily Wire (many are trying to figure out why?). Andrew Klavan likely lost half of his audience (myself included) when he starting absolving homosexuality (in some sense promoting it) while professing to be a born-again Christian. Let's be honest - the Daily Wire has significant problems.
What a BS article. Implosion? Candace left over a year ago ... after she liked a post asking if a Rabbi was drunk on Christian blood. This "analysis" of the Daily Wire sounds like jealousy.
